A studio portrait experience created to celebrate the beginning of a beautiful new chapter with your adopted dog.
Welcoming a rescue dog into your life is no small thing. It is the beginning of a bond, a turning point, and often the start of a story that changes everything. The Gotcha Portrait was created to honour that chapter with a simple, meaningful portrait experience and a beautiful keepsake to remember it by.
Please register within 30 days of bringing your dog home. Your session itself can wait until your dog is settled, any time in the next 12 months.
Why a Studio Portrait?
They are especially beautiful for newly adopted dogs, because the focus stays exactly where it should, on them, and on the chapter you have just begun together.

I’ll personally review your details and send through the next step, including access to your booking proposal.
Step 3
Once your proposal is completed, we’ll begin planning your portrait experience together.
Session Availability
Gotcha Portrait sessions are held Wednesday or Friday afternoons at my Wootton studio and are limited to four families per month.
Where your dog’s story begins

The Gotcha Portrait is designed to honour that beginning, in a simple, beautiful way.
The Gotcha Portrait includes a one hour studio portrait session at my Wootton studio, along with one 8×10" fine art portrait, presented in an 11×14" black or white mat as a meaningful keepsake from your dog’s very first chapter with you.
This experience is designed to keep things simple and special, while still giving you the opportunity to explore additional artwork later if you wish.
For some, this one piece is enough.
For others, it becomes the beginning of something more.
You Don’t Need a Perfect Dog
Many of the dogs I photograph are excitable, unsure, distracted, or still finding their feet in a brand new home.
That is completely okay. My role is to work patiently and gently with the dog in front of me, so we can create beautiful portraits without pressure or unrealistic expectations.

You may know that I photograph dogs for Dog Rescue Newcastle here at my studio and I always approach my sessions on a dog-led basis. I allow dogs to decompress when they arrive and take as long as they need to settle in.
I've photographed hundreds of shelter dogs over the past 15 years in high stress situations with every kind of personality. I've got this.
Yes. Many of the dogs I photograph need a gentler, more thoughtful approach. We go at their pace and keep the experience calm and supportive.
Your Gotcha Portrait includes one fine art matted Artisan print, along with the matching social media digital file for that chosen portrait so you can share on your socials or save as your background.
If, after seeing your images, you fall in love with more, there will be the opportunity to purchase additional artwork, and matching digital portraits are included with each artwork piece or collection.
The Gotcha Portrait is designed as a studio portrait experience, but if your heart is really set on outdoor imagery, let’s talk about it during your pre-session design consultation.
If it feels like a better fit, there may be the option to move into a countryside Signature Experience instead.
Gotcha Portrait sessions are generally held Wednesday or Friday afternoons at my Wootton studio, so Saturdays are not usually available for this experience.
If a weekday is not possible for you, let me know when you enquire and I can advise whether there are any other options.
