ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Jo Lyons

That's me! I'm an award-winning specialist dog photographer and I create stunning, heartfelt portraits of dogs and the people who love them. Together with my husband Neal, who works hard behind the scenes, we are Jo Lyons Photography. We are located in the picturesque Great Lakes NSW and provide a custom experience with a choice of studio or scenic locations, from the countryside to the sea. We create beautiful artwork that will last a lifetime.

I am proud to have created and self-published two books - Tails of Barrington Coast and Teeny Tiny Dogs and Their Stories - that have raised much-needed funds for animal-related charities.

My career in pet photography began when I found a stray dog named Jack, who opened my eyes to the world of animal rescue and resulted in my vocation of spending every week volunteering at some of Sydney's largest pounds for over eight years with a vision to create adoption pawtraits to help every animal find them their forever home.

Today, we are proud charity partners with Dog Rescue Newcastle, contributing to their invaluable mission through our Adoption Pawtrait Experience program. With the assistance of a dedicated volunteer, a shelter dog is chauffeured to our studio, where they leap into a two-hour frolic of studio and countryside bliss.

During this immersive experience, we craft captivating imagery that supports their adoption profiles and seeks to attract their perfect forever family. Together, we are making a difference, one pawtrait at a time.
