The Discover Call

The Discovery Call and Planning Consultation

The Discovery Call and Planning Consultation. The first steps to a lifetime of beautiful memories of your dog.

You absolutely adore your dog and you’ve come to the realisation that time is flying by and you have thousands of snaps of your dog on your phone, but you are yearning for more. Your dog is your life, they deserve their very own professional photo session right? And those snaps on your phone, how many of them are of you with your dog?

Unlike wedding, family and newborn photography, you really don’t need a reason to book in, you can do it at any time. But here’s the thing, their lives are so short compared to ours. What better time than the present.

The Discovery Call - Planning the perfect photo

So how does it work? How do you know if I am the right photographer for you?

Choosing the right photographer can be confusing and time-consuming. A Google search will turn up all the pet photographers in the area, but how do you know who to choose? Well firstly, do you love their photography and do they provide a great service to their clients? Have you checked out their Google reviews and their website? Are they active on social media?

If I’m on your shortlist for the Great Lakes NSW, I’ll help answer any questions you may have. All you need to do is book a suitable time for a complimentary Discovery Call via my scheduler and just join the Zoom meeting at that date and time. You’ll get an auto-reminder a few hours prior. Zoom is a great way to see who you are talking with and get a feel to see if this experience, and this photographer, is right for you. You can have your dog on your lap, most people do, and I usually have a dog or two sleeping in the background.

In our chat, you can tell me a little about your dog and I’ll walk you through how our Farm Photography Experience in Wootton NSW works, or we can discuss a suitable “off the farm” location if preferred at your own farm or home, or your dog’s favourite beach or park in the Great Lakes NSW.

Next, we talk about how you would like to display the images from your session in your home and the artwork I offer and show you the samples hanging in my office, the best options for your budget, and finally what you need to do to make a booking. The Discover Call

How do you book the Discovery Call?

Just click the turquoise “Book Now” button at the top right of my website and then click https://bookme.name/jolyonsphotography/discovery

This will take you to my scheduling tool where you can pick a time to chat that suits you. Once you’ve booked your Discovery Call, you’ll receive an email with the date, time and Zoom meeting details. You can also scan the QR code to add the appointment to your calendar.

If you haven’t used Zoom before, please jump on a few minutes prior to the scheduled time to make sure Zoom connects for you and familiarise yourself with the screen. You’ll be in my virtual waiting room and I’ll admit you to the call at the scheduled time.

What do you need to do if you decide to book a photo session?

You will have the opportunity during the Discovery Call to ask me any questions and if you decide it’s something you would love to do, we will find a suitable date for your photo session and you’ll pay the session fee. I can process this payment over the call via MasterCard, Amex or Visa.

Next, you’ll receive an email from me confirming your booking and attaching your receipt from the transaction. This email will list out the next steps which include the following:

  1. Reading and signing the Photo Session Terms and Conditions
  2. Completing the Pre-Session Questionnaire
  3. Schedule your Planning Consultation for the week leading up to your photo session and upload your dog’s current C5 vaccination certificate or titer test results.
  4. Send through a photo of each wall in your home where you would like to hang artwork of your dog
  5. Browse my Artwork Guide and Experience Preparation Guide to help you prepare for the big day.

The Discovery Call

The Planning Consultation

In the week leading up to your photo session, we will meet online again, this time to discuss final details of the day, the outcomes you’d love and the weather forecast. This is a quick 15-20 minute online chat via Zoom where together we’ll plan an experience tailored to your dog’s personality, what kind of images you would love me to capture on the day and discuss the perfect products for your style.

So, if you are ready to take the next step, schedule your Discovery Call now!

Next week’s blog post will be all about the big day… the Farm Photography Experience!

You had me at the photo of the big white dog. 🙂 I love that you differentiate between your dog photography and cellphones. People need to have beautiful portraits of them and their doggos together – not just a collection of selfies that become digital dust.

Thanks Angela, appreciate the feedback and I thought you might just notice that big white dog!

When did you photograph Bella? 😉 – great job explaining your process and the care you take in ensuring that your clients will be 100% pleased with their experience with you and the resulting images.

It’s nice to actually see you on video and the discovery call is an amazing option. I wish I could come to your farm for a photo session!

You are spot on about there not being a specific timeframe for getting dog photos taken. I wish people did it much sooner–or much more frequently!

Your video’s are superb! I need to use this medium more. I love that first photo!
