Pet Photography 52 Weeks Project – Week 28 – Dog photography in a landscape setting

Welcome to Week 28 of the Pet Photography 52 Weeks Project.  This week’s theme is “Landscape” and for me, in particular, dog photography in a landscape setting.

I’ve just come back from a wonderful 10 days on our farm in the Wootton Valley where I celebrated my 52nd birthday. My husband Neal surprised me with a picnic on the field just down from the house. He’d been working in Sydney and arrived the morning of my birthday. As I was waiting for him to arrive, I spotted two Tawny Frogmouth Owls in one of the huge old angophora (Sydney Red Gum) trees. I didn’t have my camera on me, so only got some iphone snaps, but they were amazing! With this week’s theme being landscape, I’d like to share some photos I took of our dogs on the farm. 

Fields of earthy hues

We have quite a lot of pasture on our 44 acres, but we will be planting lots of trees. Neal has slashed this quite creatively by leaving tracts in tact so I have lots of different spots to photograph dogs. The only trick to this is making sure my path is clear, especially with smaller dogs, so that I don’t end up with a piece of rogue grass across the face of the dog!

All this modelling is hard work for both the photographer and the dogs, so it’s time for some fun!
