Dog photography and blue sky is a magical combination

Pet Photography 52 Weeks Project – Week 25 – Mr Blue Sky

Welcome to Week 25 of the Pet Photography 52 Weeks Project.  This week’s theme is “Mr Blue Sky”. Dog photography and blue sky is a magical combination!

AUTUMN SKIES OF SYDNEY

Back in mid-may I had an Adventure Session at Silver Beach at Kurnell in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire. The past 3 months have consisted mainly of my Teeny Tiny Dogs and their Stories sessions for my upcoming book. Occasionally I am still scheduling normal sessions here and there where I can.

TEENY TINY DOGS UPDATES GOT MARY THINKING

Mary contacted me to photograph her two senior rescue dogs after seeing my posts on my Teeny Tiny Dogs project.  Melo is a 16 year old black Pomeranian and Billy is a 14 year old Shih Tzu.

Like many dog lovers out there, Mary had always intended on getting professional photos taken of her dogs, but just never got around to it. She said she had realised recently just how much they have aged and that’s what prompted her to seek out a professional dog photographer.

Mary’s goal for the session was for me to capture beautiful, candid photos of her boys for a photobook and artwork for the wall.

CHOOSING THE PERFECT LOCATION

I suggested we go to Kurnell for our session as the boys love visiting there. This location also has lots of options with the beach and the surrounding parkland.

The day of the session the weather was perfect albeit a little on the chilly side. Autumn and Winter in Sydney means incredible blue skies on a sunny day. We were certainly blessed with the sky that day.

Dog photography and blue sky truly is a magical combination… here are a few photos from the session that I hope you enjoy:

I love these photos…the little black dog looks like a bear cub!! Talk about blue skies as well – very different from our weather of late!

These pups are so very cute, and obviously so very loved.
