Welcome to Week 24 of the Pet Photography 52 Weeks Project. This week’s theme is “City Life”. This is all about Celebrating a Gotcha Day!
A reflection back to an amazing session with Artemis
We are up at the farm this weekend so I’ve gone to my archives for this week’s topic and chosen a very special session I did last year. Artemis 10 Year Gotcha Celebration – Adventure Session.
Ellie runs and animal charity organisation called Penny Marathon and way back in 2008 she rescued an abandoned puppy from a garbage bin in Athens. She adopted this dog, Artemis, and brought her back to Australia where she has lived ever since in the heart of Sydney’s inner west.
Ellie and I often collaborate together to help raise funds and awareness for Penny Marathon and rescued animals however on this occasion of Artemis 10th Gotcha Day, Ellie booked me for a professional photo session to celebrate her love for Artemis.
The original photo when Ellie adopted Artemis in Athens
This photo was taken when Ellie first adopted Artemis after saving her from the streets. One of the goals of the photo session was to re-enact this photo ten years on. Further down you’ll see the result.

Blackwattle Bay and Sydney City Skyline
Ellie chose Blackwattle Bay for her session as it combines the beauty of parkland on the water, with the amazing backdrops of not only the iconic Anzac Bridge, but also the Sydney CBD skyline.
Artemis totally rocked her session. One of the comments Ellie made in the pre-session questionnaire was that Arti loves going into the water, but only up to her belly. I think I captured this personality trait spot on! Thanks Arti.

What a lucky dog. I love the bridge shots especially.
What a gem to have the adoption picture! So special for Ellie to have these images now and sweet to see Artemis’ white muzzle after seeing that bright and naive puppy face. Lovely work.
