Pet Photography 52 Weeks Project – Week 1 – Shiny

Happy New Year…

and welcome to my first blog post of 2019!

I’ve joined a global pet photographer’s blog circle as a way to collaborate and continue learning and developing creativity as in this blog circle there is a weekly challenge every week of the year.  So Week 1 of 2019 is “Shiny”.  My goal is to make all 52 weeks, but we’ll see!

I started off thinking of shiny in the brand new year kind of way and on New Year’s Day morning we headed off to the beach early to take the #3dogkateers for a swim.  The sun was gleaming and creating a nice shine on the waters of Botany Bay.

Then the last light of the first day of the year at our local grasslands… shining a golden hour glow.

I then switched to my macro lens for some shiny eyes, noses, tongues, lips and toe nails.  I hope you enjoy these images… it was fun trying to interpret photographically with dogs and elaborate on the term Shiny.

What a beautiful variety of images, Jo! Looks like a fun adventure and the pups were having a blast! I love your switch to the macro lens – always fun to work with. My favorite images (although I love them all) are the ones in the grasslands with that gorgeous light shining – and the ears are perfection! Nicely done!

Thank you Darlene! I’ve really enjoyed this first week of the challenge and I’m glad you love my pups … they are our world 🙂

Lovely to have you here Jo….we’re almost neighbours🙂. Great to see your three pups, and all your images are great! Looks like you all had a fun day! Love those closeups, but I think my favourites are in the water with those great reflections.
